What is it?

Our virtual locations are locations where the server is physically located in a different country, but all of the traffic passes through our virtual location country. For example, your server may physically be located in Germany but all of the traffic goes through a server in Amsterdam. This means that your server will appear to be located in Amsterdam, but in reality the hardware is physically located in Germany.

What are the advantages or disadvantages?

Advantages:

  • Higher levels of DDoS Mitigation
  • Cheaper IPv4 addresses
  • Better overall connectivity

Disadvantages:

  • Adds Latency (~5-10ms)
